PBLA sends a letter to US President Trump

Today, October 13, PBLA chairman Pēteris Blumbergs sent a letter to U.S. President Donald Trump, expressing the concerns of the World Federation of Free Latvians and the American Latvian Association about U.S. sanction relief for Russian diesel, the planned invitation of the Russian president to the G20 summit at the end of the year in Florida, and urging the U.S. president to continue supporting Ukraine by putting pressure on Russia.

In their letter, the leaders of PBLA and ALA call for the termination of the agreement on the import of Russian diesel fuel, the restoration of full US sanctions regarding Russian energy imports, the withdrawal of the invitation to the Russian president to the G20 leaders’ summit, and the strengthening of coordinated support for Ukraine by providing it with military assistance to defend its sovereignty and protect its citizens.
