(English below) Latvijas Investīciju un Attīstības Aģentūra (LIAA) izveidoja pārstāvniecību Kanādā 2022.gada martā. Tai ir divi galvenie pamatdarbības mērķi Kanādā:
    • Veicināt komercdarbības izaugsmi starp Latvijas un Kanādas uzņēmumiem, lai paaugstinātu Latvijas preču un pakalpojumu eksportu uz Kanādu.
    • Veicināt Kanādas uzņēmu investīcijas Latvijā un snieg atbalstu potenciāliem investoriem, lai iegūtu visu nepieciešamo informāciju par atbalsta programmām Latvijā, organizēt tikšanās ar municipalitātēm un pilsētu pārstāvjiem, kadru piesaistes uzņēmumiem, nekustamā īpašuma un konsultnatu uzņēmumiem, kā arī nozaru pārstāvjiem.
Papildus diviem galvenajiem darbības mērķiem, LIAA :
    • Iesaistīt Kanādas latviešu diasporu ekonsporu ekomiskās sadarbības veicināšanā starp Latviju un Kanādu, kā arī iesaistīt diasporas pārstāvjus Latvijas Vēstnešu programmā. Latvijas digitālajā vizītkartē, vietnē latvia.eu, kur apkopota dažāda informācija par Latviju, sadaļā Join MissionLatvia aicinām ikvienu, kam Latvija sirdī, pievienoties Mission Latvia vēstnešu kopienai, aizpildot pavisam īsu pieteikšanās anketu (Join Us): https://www.latvia.eu/join-missionlatvia/.
    • Piesaistīt Kanādas jaunuzņēmumus veidot savas pārstāvniecības Latvijā, kas dotu iespēju Kanādas uzņēmumiem piekļūt 450 mil. Eiropas Savienības (ES) iedzīvotāju tirgum.
    • Veicināt inovatīvās tehnoloģijas pārnesi starp Kanādu un Latviju, lai veidotu sadarbību starp abām valstīm invoācijā un pētniecībā. Sadarbība ar Latvijas pētniecības organizācijām un uzņēmumiem, kas ļautu Kanādas organizācijām startēt ES Apvārsnis Eiropa projektos kopā ar Latvijas pārstāvjie, jo Kanāda var tikai pieteikties uzsaukumos tikai ar kopā ar ES dalībvalstīm.

The Investment and Development Agency of Latvia opened its Representative office in Canada in March of 2022. The Agency has two primary focus areas in Canada:

  • To drive partnerships between Latvian and Canadian companies to help to grow exports for Latvian goods and services to Canada. The agency works as a liaison for business and our focus it to connect interested parties from both sides to initiate conversations. Latvia is part of the EU and was the first country to ratify the Canada and EU Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, which helps remove tariffs and duties for most goods and services when exported to Canada.
  • Attracting Canadian investors to Latvia. Our Agency supports companies who are looking to invest in Canada by providing necessary support to connect with all required parties such us municipalities, cities, local recruiting, real estate and tax experts and many more.

Additional focus areas include:

  • Attracting Canadian startups by making Latvia a gateway to the EU for businesses. Latvia has an excellent pool of talented engineers, scientists, developers who can help to advance startup innovations to a commercial stage efficiently and cost effectively.
  • Support Canadian and Latvian companies and organizations to collaborate in science and innovations. Latvia can be a great partner to Canadian organizations and companies who are looking to participate in the Horizon Europe projects by jointly submitting proposals.
