Kas ir Izglītības un kultūras Fonds?

Latviešu Nacionālās Apvienības Kanadā (LNAK) Izglītības un kultūras fonds (IKF), ir bezpeļņas labdarības organizācija, kas reģistrēta Ontario kopš 1982. gada. Fondam ir tiesības izsniegt ziedojumu kvītes nodokļu atmaksai.  Fonda līdzekļus veido galvenokārt ziedojumi un testementārie novēlējumi. Uzkrātie līdzekļi tiek izlietoti, lai atbalstītu latvisko izglītību, kultūras pasākumus un LNAK darbību Kanadā.

Izglītības un Kultūras fonda valde pārrauga fonda darbību, un tiek ievēlēta fonda gadskārtējā pilnsapulcē.

Ja vēlaties kļūt par fonda biedru, un esat vismaz 18 gadu vecs, lūdzu izpildiet veidlapu, kas ir atrodama pa labi, un iesniedziet to valdei sūtot uz lnak@lnak.org.  Valde tad izskata un apstiprina iestāšanās pieprasījumu.

IKF ir atbalstījis projektus un pieteikumus beidzamos pāris gados $668,865 apmērā. Daži piemēri ir:

  • Dziesmu un deju svētki Kanadā,

  • filmu izrādes,

  • CD Canadian Amber,

  • latviešu skolas Kanadā,

  • latviešu skolotāju semināri

  • stipendijas latviešu studentiem

  • grāmatas:
    Latvian Pioneers, Socialists and Refugees in Manitoba;
    The Latvians of Matheson Ontario;
    Latvian-Canadian Artists and Artisans;
    Latvian-Canadian Art, Music, Letters,

The Latvian National Federation in Canada (LNFC) Educational and Cultural Foundation (ECF) was registered in Ontario in 1982 as a non-for-profit charitable organization. Money for the foundation comes from individual donations, testaments and all donors receive a charitable donation receipt.  The foundation supports Latvian educational and cultural activities here in Canada.

The Foundation is managed by its board of directors. The board of directors is elected at each annual meeting to hold office until the next annual meeting.

If you wish to become a member of the Foundation and are at least 18 years of age, you must fill out an application form found on this web site and then submit it to the board for approval to lnak@lnak.org.

Here are some examples of what the Foundation has supported in the last few years in the amount of $668,865:

  • Latvian Song and Dance Festival in Canada,
  • Films about Latvija,
  • CD Canadian Amber,
  • Latvian schools in Canada,
  • seminars for teachers of Latvian schools,
  • scholarships for Lastvian studens,
  • books:

Scholarships

The Latvian Education and Culture Foundation (IKF) offers summer scholarships for young Latvians who wish to attend

  • Garezers Summer High School or Kursa Summer High School
  • Latvian summer camp with an emphasis on the Latvian language.
  • ALA’s Hello Latvia or Heritage Latvia trip.

IKF also offers scholarships to youths under 30 to attend higher education institutions in Canada and abroad.
