The Job Mobility Advisors of the European Employment Services Network (EURES) of the State Employment Agency (NVA) will again this year, using theZoom platform offer online seminars “I want to return to Latvia. Where do I start?” The seminars are an opportunity for Latvian citizens, who live outside of Latvia, but wish to return, to receive detailed information about the labour market and employment opportunities in Latvia, as well about the services and support that are offered by NVA and EURES, and to learn about the formalities that need to be taken care of outside of Latvia before returning.

2024. This year the NVA and EURES seminars “I want to return to Latvia. Where do I start?” will take place on Zoom on the dates of January 18, April 18, and October 17. Each seminar will last an hour and will begin at 16:00 Rīga, Latvia time.

Please sign up by choosing a date and filling and submitting an online form.

You will be able to join the Zoom meeting by clicking on the link that will be sent to you after you have registered. To participate in the seminar, you will need to use a laptop, tablet or smartphone with an internet connection. You do not need to have earbuds equipped with a microphone or a webcam – those are both optional. You will be able to pose your questions in the Zoom chat.

Līga Baufale, the EURES coordinator for the NVA Labour Market Department, says: “It is very important for Latvian nationals who live and work abroad, but are considering or have already decided to return to Latvia to be informed about the labour market situation and job opportunities in Latvia, as well as about the proper procedures to follow upon their return. Finding a suitable job in Latvia and completing all the necessary documents for the move in a timely and orderly manner are prerequisites for a successful return. As well as getting advice on what to do when moving, participants in the NVA EURES online seminars will be able to gain up-to-date information on job opportunities and living conditions in Latvia, and be able to share their experience of dealing with relocation issues with other potential remigrants and their families.
