Helen Liene Dreifelds Studio
Visual Artist | Educator | Metal Fabricator
Helen Liene Dreifelds (b. 1987, Canada) is an interdisciplinary artist working in sculpture and installation. Guided by structured improvisation and textile thinking as both method and material, her materially expansive practice spans handwoven textiles, metal, cast objects, lens-based media, architectural structures, and ephemeral elements such as water, light, and sound. Through gestures of weaving, layering, and suspension, she creates environments that explore transformation, perception, and the instability of relational systems. Rooted in questions of knowledge, authority, and cultural transmission, her installations trace resonances between material, human, and ecological worlds. Drawing from her background in textiles and sculpture, Dreifelds invites embodied observation and sensory engagement, foregrounding ambiguity and multiplicity as spaces for reflection and renewal.
