Why books?

Children’s books offer not only the opportunity to learn new words, but also to develop important communication skills and the ability to express your thoughts clearly and persuasively. They are a great tool for language development for several reasons:
– Enrich vocabulary: by reading books, children are introduced to new words and phrases that expand their language skills and help build a richer vocabulary.
– Promotes understanding of grammar: The books offer the opportunity to see how words and sentences are ordered, which helps children understand grammar rules and sentence structure. In early language development, understanding grammar happens naturally – at this age, we are planting seeds!
– Develops imagination and comprehension: reading encourages children to imagine stories, which helps develop creative thinking and understanding of the world, which in turn contributes to language comprehension.
– Builds listening and concentration skills: by reading stories with children, they learn to concentrate on what they are hearing, which is important for understanding and comprehending language.
– Promotes emotional development: books often explain emotions and situations, which helps children better understand their own and other people’s feelings, which is also important for developing language skills.
– Develops positive attitudes towards reading: regular book reading fosters a love of reading and literature, which is important for long-term language and educational development. Having your child in your lap is a very natural way to develop warm feelings towards books, reading and language!
– Children’s books offer not only the opportunity to learn new words, but also to develop important communication skills and the ability to express your thoughts clearly and persuasively.

!!!Recommendation from other parents: read books published in both Latvian and English. This approach helps the child to understand the text better while developing language skills in both languages.!!!!
