Viesturs Zariņš, former chairman of the LNAK, receives the Order of the Three Stars

Viesturs Zariņš, a well-known public figure and researcher of diaspora heritage in Canada and Latvia, has recently been appointed a Chevalier of the Order of the Three Stars. This prestigious recognition was awarded in recognition of his long and significant contribution to the Latvian community in Canada. The Order of the Three Stars is the highest civilian order awarded for meritorious service to Latvia. The ceremony took place during the XVI Latvian Song and Dance Festival in Canada at the Sheraton Hotel in Toronto. The Order was presented by the President of the Republic of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, and the guests greeted Viesturs Zariņš with warm applause and words of gratitude. He expressed his gratitude to everyone, especially his wife Inga and his children, who have supported his work and stressed that this award is both an honour and an obligation to continue his work.
