LNAK Education and Culture Foundation summer scholarships

Thanks to your donations, the LNAK Education and Culture Foundation (IKF) awards annual scholarships to Latvian young people who wish to continue their Latvian education and enjoy Latvian culture during the summer months. This year we had three young people who wanted to study in Latvian summer high schools. Laila Kūlniece applied to the Garezer Summer School (GVV) and Paula Petrova and Max Soutar to the West Coast Secondary School in Cours. Laila will also take part in the Sveika, Latvija programme in August. Laila will be joined by five other TLBS alumni supported in the Sveika, Latvija programme: Alēna Ezera, Adriana Huska, Madara Sukse Dos Santos, Rasma Valdmane and Oskars Zandbergs. This summer we are also encouraging younger children to take part in the Tērvete camp for young children “Tītariņi. In the autumn we are waiting for descriptions of the adventures from Sveika, Latvia, camp and high school visitors.

The IKF Board also awarded a scholarship to Jessica Jacko to take part in the AFS Intercultural Exchange Programme, spending one year of high school in Latvia
