February 8: LNAK Special Members’ Meeting re new Statutes

Dear LNAK members!

We send you our very best greetings for a fruitful New Year!

This is to notify you of the LNAK Special Members’ Meeting to be held on Saturday, February 8 There will be just one item on the agenda: the first reading of the proposed new LNAK By-Law.

The By-Law Review Committee has worked diligently creating a document that combines the motions passed at the last Annual Members’ General Meeting outlining the future structure of the LNAK together with provisions contained in the Canada Not-For-Profit Corporations Act. The new By-Law has been checked over by our legal counsel.

We will be forwarding the draft By-Law to you in advance of the meeting to give you the opportunity to acquaint yourself with the contents. We will provide as much time as needed during the meeting to respond to questions as they arise.

At the same time, this serves as notice of the next Annual Members’ Meeting on Saturday, April 5, 2025. . The agenda will include the second reading of the By-Law.

The next Board of LNAK will be elected in 2026 based on the new By-Law.

Both meetings will take place at the Latvian Centre Toronto, registration at 9.30 a.m., meeting commencing at 10.00 a.m.. 10.00. Arrangements have been made for electronic participation via Zoom.
