As per the new LNAK statutes, which were adopted in 2025, starting with the LNAK General Meeting on April 11, 2026, organizations as well as individuals will be eligible to become members of LNAK.

Organizations
To apply for LNAK membership as an organization, please click here.
The Organization Member class shall be available to corporations and
unincorporated associations or organizations,
i. who share the purposes of LNAK;
ii. whose bylaws or activities do not conflict with those of LNAK
iii. who have applied and been accepted for membership in LNAK
a. An Organization Member shall be entitled at any meeting of members to one (1) vote
for up to the first twenty-five of the Organization Member’s total membership; and
one (1) vote for each additional 25 members to a maximum of five (5) votes.
b. Katram organizācijas loceklim ir tiesības iecelt maksimāli piecus (5) delegātus atkarībā no balsu skaita, uz kuru tam ir tiesības saskaņā ar a) punktu.
Each Organization Member shall be entitled to appoint a maximum of five (5)
delegates depending on the number of votes to which it is entitled under paragraph
(a). A delegate may exercise one or more votes on behalf of the Organization
Member up to the maximum number of votes specified in
paragraph (a).
LNAK has represented the Latvian Canadian community for over 70 years. It is a federally incorporated, not for profit Canadian organization.
It represents the Latvian community to all three levels of government.
The Latvian National Federation in Canada seeks to -support Latvian culture, language and history -facilitate connections between those of Latvian heritage, and Latvians at heart -create and maintain relations with the broader Canadian community -promote active cooperation and dialogue between Latvia and Canada
LNAK has supported various cultural and educational initiatives, including the Latvian Song and Dance Festival in Canada, the Tribute to Liberty monument in Ottawa, schools, childrens summer camps and students. LNAK supports research about Latvians in Canada and Latvian Canadian artists. LNAK is a hub for Latvian Canadian archival material with its Canadian Latvian Archival Museum (KLAM) project.
To continue our work, the LNAK Board and Executive committee invite Latvian Canadians to get involved in LNAK and support us by becoming a member! If you are already a member, please encourage your friends and family to join us.
The annual membership fee is a modest $25.00
