LNAK Launching

Help Us Tell the Story of Latvians in Canada

LNAK is launching the Canadian Latvian Virtual Museum, a bilingual website in English and Latvian aimed at sharing the stories of the Latvian community in Canada. The Museum will be organized in thematic galleries featuring both images and narratives.

LNAK invites you to join us in bringing this project to life. We are looking for photographs and stories that depict:

The journey to Canada
Arrival and first impressions (for those not born in Canada)
Organizations and local groups, especially youth activism over the years
Song festivals in Canada (choirs, folk dance groups, artisans)
Advocacy work and LNAK

Please have a look at your family photos for any images that reflect our life here in Canada. If you have pictures that reflect aspects of our community other than those outlined above, we will welcome them as well.

If you have material you would like to contribute that needs digitizing, please contact us, providing a brief description. We likewise invite you to share your stories. Sign up for an interview or share your story in writing.
