Ieva Jāgere is the new Director of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia
Following an open competition for the position of Director of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA), the Minister of Economics has appointed Ieva Jāgere to the role.
Ieva Jagere is a finance and investment expert with more than 15 years of experience in corporate finance and has managed large-scale investment attraction transactions. She is also the Managing Partner of Callidus Capital, a financial and investment advisory firm, and an independent member of Indexo’s Internal Audit Committee.
From 2016 to 2022, Jagere was CEO of Callidus Capital, and prior to that she was Head of Corporate Finance at Oaklins Baltics for more than three years, responsible for sourcing and managing various client investments and transactions. The new Director of LIAA, selected by the Minister of Economics, holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga and a Master’s degree in International Economics and Business from the University of Latvia.
As previously announced, the selection process involved three rounds, with a total of 18 applicants participating.
During the first round, the selection committee reviewed the submitted documents and assessed each applicant’s compliance with the mandatory requirements. In the second round, applicants shared their motivation to assume the role of LIAA Director, responded to the committee’s questions, and outlined their vision for LIAA’s priority development areas, including whether any existing areas should be discontinued. In the third round, applicants’ management competencies were evaluated, focusing on strategic vision, results orientation, decision-making and accountability, change management, and team leadership.
