Guided by structured improvisation and textile thinking as both method and material, her materially expansive practice spans handwoven textiles, metal, cast objects, lens-based media, architectural structures, and ephemeral elements such as water, light, and sound. Through gestures of weaving, layering, and suspension, she creates environments that explore transformation, perception, and the instability of relational systems. Rooted in questions of knowledge, authority, and cultural transmission, her installations trace resonances between material, human, and ecological worlds. Drawing from her background in textiles and sculpture, Dreifelds invites embodied observation and sensory engagement, foregrounding ambiguity and multiplicity as spaces for reflection and renewal.

2025 MFA, Yale University School of Art, New Haven, CT, United States

2025 Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, Madison, ME, United States

2009 BA, Concordia University Montréal, Montréal, Canada

[824,829,826,827,825
831,830,223
post-14510","profesionalis","type-profesionalis","status-publish","hentry","tag-contemporary-art","tag-digital-jacquard-weaving","tag-female-sculptor","tag-installation","tag-textiles","sektors-vai-profesija-art-fabrication","sektors-vai-profesija-education","sektors-vai-profesija-art
Helen Liene Dreifelds (b. 1987, Canada) is an interdisciplinary artist working in sculpture and installation.
