On March 13 at 3:00 p.m. ET\/8:00 p.m. CET<\/strong>, the Atlantic Council is hosting an #ACFrontPage conversation with Latvian Prime Minister Evika Sili\u0146a<\/strong>. The prime minister will explore Latvia\u2019s role in transatlantic affairs and its importance in the Baltic region as a bulwark against Russia.<\/p>\n

In the two years since Russia\u2019s full-scale invasion of Ukraine began, Latvia has reaffirmed its status as a steadfast NATO ally and a pivotal player in efforts to safeguard stability, promote collective defense, and support Kyiv. Additionally, Latvia has surpassed NATO’s 2 percent of gross domestic product defense-spending threshold and currently hosts a NATO forward presence battle group to bolster the Alliance’s eastern flank.<\/p>\n

With several important milestones to come over the course of this year\u2014including the twentieth anniversary of Latvia\u2019s accession to NATO and the Alliance\u2019s seventy-fifth anniversary\u2014Sili\u0146a joins the Atlantic Council to outline her government\u2019s priorities for the upcoming NATO Summit in Washington and to discuss how the United States and the Baltic countries can continue to work together to strengthen their collective security.<\/p>\n

This edition of #ACFrontPage will take place in person<\/a>at the Atlantic Council studios in Washington, DC. In-person attendance is limited and will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis through registration.
