Alexandra Chyczij, National President of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) issued the following statement in response to Donald Trump and JD Vance\u2019s attack on President Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian people:<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The shameful attack by Trump and Vance on President Zelenskyy was one of the most disgraceful things we have ever witnessed from a US Administration.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

To berate the leader of a country fighting for its life against Russia\u2019s genocidal war is an act of perfidy and dishonesty that is a stain on the United States. To say that Ukraine is not ready for peace is simply a lie. It is Russia that does not want peace. It is Russia that started the war.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

We call on the American people to make plain to their Administration that the American people remain on the side of justice and truth \u2013 both of which were abandoned today by Trump and Vance.<\/div>\n
